Where to Promote Affiliate Links for Free

October 23, 2026by Mark Dayton

The best free places to promote affiliate links are your own social profiles, short videos, YouTube, your own Facebook group, email, a blog, and one-on-one conversations. What matters more than where is how: lead with something helpful and share your link when it fits.

When I started, I pasted my link into every group that would let me. It didn't work, and it got me removed from a few. Here's what I do now.

Disclosure: I'm an independent OLSP affiliate and may earn a commission if you join through my links. Results vary and aren't guaranteed.

7 Free Places to Promote Affiliate Links

  1. Your Facebook profile. Share what you're learning and what's working. Put your link in comments or messages when people ask.
  2. Short videos. Reels, TikTok and Shorts can reach people who've never met you. Link in your profile.
  3. YouTube. Videos keep getting found for months. Link in the description.
  4. Your own Facebook group. A home base for people who want what you share. Mine is Beyond The Paycheck.
  5. Email. The one channel you own. Follow up with helpful emails over time.
  6. A blog. Slower to start, but posts can bring in readers from Google for years.
  7. Conversations. Messages and replies with people who are actually looking for what you found.

How to Share Affiliate Links Without Getting Banned

  • Read group rules. Most groups ban links in posts. Follow them.
  • Lead with value. A tip, a lesson or an honest update first.
  • Let people ask. "Comment if you want the link" turns a post into conversations.
  • Send people to a capture page, not straight to a sales page, so you can follow up.
  • Disclose that you may earn a commission.

The Habit That Turns Free Traffic Into Commissions

Consistency. One helpful post, short video or email a day beats ten posts one week and nothing the next. Most of my mornings now start with one longer video, one short video, my Facebook posts and one email. It's not glamorous, but it's what moves the needle.

The free Affiliate Launchpad teaches this step by step, with live sessions every week. If you're also looking for a simple offer to share, read Best Affiliate Programs for Beginners and Affiliate Marketing Without a Website.

Only if the group rules allow it. Most don't, so share value in the group and let people ask you for the link.
